After another busy weekend of League Two action, Sportsmail's TOM FARMERY reflects on the thrills and spills...
HERO OF THE WEEK
John Coleman. This time last season, Accrington Stanley were in a relegation scrap. They finished just outside the play-off places. Coleman’s side have timed it perfectly this year. Jordan Clark struck twice at Coventry to move Stanley up to second — in front of 28,343 fans, with tickets sold for £5.
John Coleman's Accrington Stanley outfit currently sit second in League Two
ZERO OF THE WEEK
Russell Slade. The Grimsby boss was sacked on Sunday after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Crawley, the club’s eighth loss in 12 games. That followed fan protests before the home draw against Cheltenham a week ago, with fans unhappy about the direction of the club under Slade and de facto chairman John Fenty.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
Jamie Devitt for Carlisle v Colchester — he’d already rattled the bar with a free-kick, but when Devitt was given another chance from a dead ball he wasn’t going to miss. He whipped the ball right-footed over the wall and into keeper Sam Walker’s top corner.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Kevin Nolan slammed his Notts County players for an ‘unacceptable’ 1-0 defeat at Barnet. ‘It wasn’t tough, it was poor — simple as that and I am not accepting it. They have got to buck their ideas up and quickly.’
STAT OF THE WEEK
15 — Mohamed Eisa’s first hat-trick for Cheltenham helped them cruise to a 5-1 win over Port Vale. It also moved him on to 15 league goals for the season.
