An early morning accident claimed the life of a man from Salcha, Alaska, when he was ejected from his vehicle.

The victim was identified as Robert Grahm, 49 of Salcha, according to an online dispatch report from the Alaska State Troopers.

The crash was reported just before 3 a.m. on Thursday, after motorists saw an overturned white Jeep near mile 333 of the Richardson Highway in Salcha.

Troopers arrived on the scene and did not find Grahm inside the vehicle. Instead, his body was located approximately 300 feet from the Jeep.

Investigation revealed Grahm was driving fast southbound when his Jeep ran off the road, over-corrected, and crossed the opposite lane.

There, the jeep rolled multiple times, and Grahm was ejected and ultimately killed. AST said it did not appear that he was wearing a seat belt.
