Sony has described the PS4's SharePlay feature as a "mini PlayStation Now".

In an interview with Famitsu (via Kotaku), Sony's Shuhei Yoshida said that the sharing feature would work with any games that use DualShock 4.

"How it works is, for example, say, a friend has a game that I don't. I ask them to let me play it, and if they send me an invitation, I can access their PS4 and play while watching the video that is streamed," Yoshida explained.

"You could call it a mini PlayStation Now."

Yoshida also said that SharePlay won't be compatible with PlayStation Camera games, and that it requires no additional input from developers.

"There is no need for developers to do anything for their games to be compatible with SharePlay."

SharePlay will be released as part of autumn's v2.00 update, alongside new broadcast and video sharing features, including dedicated app support for YouTube.

It was announced during Sony's gamescom conference, alongside a new Tearaway game for PS4 and a new game from Michel Ancel called Wild.
