On Thursday, Des Moines Performing Arts unveiled the Broadway shows coming to the Des Moines Civic Center for the 2019-2020 Willis Broadway Season. The World War II-era musical comes from three-time Tony® winner and Hamilton choreographer, Andy Blankenbuehler. The musical revolves around Private First-Class Donny Novitski, a singer and songwriter struggling to rebuild the life he left behind in the war.“Jesus Christ Superstar”The new year will begin with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “Jesus Christ Superstar,” which shows at the Des Moines Civic Center Jan. 14–19, 2020“Come from Away”“Come from Away” comes to Des Moines Jan. 28–Feb. 2, 2020. The New York Times Critics’ Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them.“Anastasia”Inspired by the beloved films, the romantic and adventure-filled new musical “Anastasia” is on a journey to Des Moines at last. The musical will dazzle audiences at the Des Moines Civic Center from Feb. 25–March 1, 2020.“My Fair Lady”Wouldn’t it be loverly to see “My Fair Lady” in Des Moines? You’re in luck!
