Potato Day
Greeley Museums will host its largest event of the day, the annual Potato Day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Centennial Village Museum, 1475 A St. The day includes music, old-fashioned children’s games, a beer garden and historical tours and demonstrations. The day is the largest annual fundraiser for the Friends of the Greeley Museums. The group has raised more than $400,000 since 1987 for the city museums. Admission is $7 per person and includes a baked potato.
Water Interpretation Exhibit
Centennial Village, 1475 A St., will host a dedication ceremony for its new water interpretation exhibit that will tell the story of water in northern Colorado. The ceremony takes place at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
‘Won’t you be my neighbor?’
“Won’t You Be My Neighbor,” a documentary about Mr. Rogers, is the next movie in the University of Northern Colorado International Film Series. The movie shows at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Sept. 13 in the basement of the Michener Library. The movie is free.
The Brianna Harris Collective
The Brianna Harris Collective will play at the Party for the Poudre event to benefit the Poudre Trail, Learning Center and Heritage Alliance. The event runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Island Grove Bunkhouse near the river trailhead. The party also includes hors-d’oeuvres and wine and beer. Tickets are $35 a person. Scottish-Irish Highland Festival
The 42nd Annual Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Highland Festival in Estes Park takes place this weekend. The four-day festival kicks off today and includes music, food and fun in downtown Estes Park. Call (800) 90-ESTES or go to ScotFest.com for tickets.
Bossa Nova Green Chili
Tigges Farm will host Bossa Nova Green Chile nights at 6 p.m. Fridays in September at the farm, 12404 Weld County Road 64 1/2 in Greeley. The farm-to-table meal will consist of pork green chile made with Tigges Farm chilies, smothered tacos, sides of beans and rice, dessert and drinks. The events are rain or shine. Costs are $12 for adults’ plates, $10 for seniors’ 10-17-year-olds’ plates, $6 for 6-9-year-olds’ plates and $3 for plates for children ages 5 and youngers. Musketeer Gripweed
Musketeer Gripweed plays Friday Fest on the 9th Street Plaza in downtown Greeley. The event starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m., and the band starts playing at 6:30 p.m. Friday Fest also includes the Go Cup district, which allows you to take a cup of alcohol on the plaza. The event is family friendly and free and will be every Friday until late September.
Marbin
Marbin, a jazz-rock fusion band, plays Saturday at the Moxi Theater, 802 9th St. in downtown Greeley. The doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 with $80 for VIP seating and packages. Go to www.moxitheater.com for tickets.
