Eighteen people have been arrested on drug charges in northern Alabama.
On July 10, drug agents arrested Roy Blalock, 70, of Henagar after more than 100 marijuana plants were discovered under his care. Agents also arrested Jeff Spurgin, 42, of Henagar, after he was found to have over 30 marijuana plants at his residence, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.
On July 7, Drug Task Force agents arrested Bobby Ray Jackson, 42, and Tina Hodge, 45, in Fort Payne. Jackson and Hodge are charged with trafficking in methamphetamine after agents seized an ounce of meth.
At another home in Fort Payne, Joshua Smith, 37, and Penny Glasscox, 42, were charged with conspiracy to commit a drug crime.
Nick Johnson, 24 of Valley Head, Judy Doss, 51, and Jessica Marie Hearn, 23, were charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after meth was discovered at the residence.
On July 11, DeKalb County Jail personnel discovered drugs in the detention center. Amy Gaul, 37 of Sylvania, Tonya Brewster, 37 of Leesburg, Sonya Wade, 37 of Bryant, Cindy Bates, 53 of Collinsville, and Tina Hodge, 45 of Fort Payne, are charged with promoting prison contraband and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On July 14, deputies arrested Thomas Harris, 19 of Crossville, Dakota Gore, 18 of Fyffe, and John Adams, 40 of Fort Payne after traffic stops turned up drugs.
On July 2, Crossville police initiated a traffic stop that also led to drug charges. Arthur A. Davis, 47 of Horton, was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a pound of cocaine, a news release stated.
