  • Miller also calls his older son Nate in memory of his late brother

Alpine skiing champ Bode Miller has named his new baby boy Nash Skan in honor of his younger brother who died two years ago.

The father-of-three announced his son's name as he shared a photo of him on Instagram on Tuesday, a day after his wife, volleyball player Morgan Beck, gave birth at their home in California.

'What an amazing moment in the miller house,' he wrote. '#homebirth #waterbirth Great work wife.'

The baby shares a middle name with Miller's late brother, snowboarder Nathaniel Kinsman Ever Chelone Skan Miller, who was found dead following a seizure in 2013 when he was just 29.

Miller has already named his two-year-old son after his brother. He calls the little boy Nate, although the boy's mother - Miller's ex-girlfriend - calls him Sam.

DailyMail.com has yet to hear back from Miller's rep about his latest choice of name.

Beck announced the arrival of Nash in Instagram photos on Monday.

'Welcomed our little man into the world at 12:35 am this morning,' she wrote beside an image of her holding the boy. '7 lbs 13 ounces and 20 inches of pure love! #BabyMiller.'

On another photograph showing Miller leaning over the boy, she added: 'Daddy loves his baby boy. melts my heart. I'm the luckiest girl in the world.'

Miller, 37, already has a seven-year-old daughter, Neesyn Dacey, with ex-girlfriend Chanel Johnson and a two-year-old son with another former flame Sara McKenna.

He has made headlines as much for his skills on the slopes as he has for his child custody disputes.

McKenna, a former Marine he met through a matchmaking service, fell pregnant with his child three months into their relationship and Miller said he did not want to raise the boy with her.

At seven months pregnant, McKenna moved from California to New York to attend Columbia University on the G.I. Bill, while he married Beck.

McKenna said she told him of her plans in a text message but he never responded.

But two weeks after Sam was born in February 2013, Miller filed for custody in California and she temporarily lost custody of him, McKenna recounted in an essay for Cosmopolitan.

In September 2013, a judge gave Miller full custody of Sam, calling McKenna's move to New York 'irresponsible and reprehensible', but she ultimately won back custody of her son.

She is now studying law in the hope of helping others going through the same ordeal.

The details of the most recent custody deal at the end of 2014 have not been made public.

'Neither of us got exactly what we wanted, but Sam got what he needed and that's what's most important to me,' McKenna, 28, said at the time.

Miller has also fought Dacey's mother, who has remarried and now goes by the name Chanel Pugh, for joint and physical custody of their daughter, as well as child support payments.

He and Beck regularly share images of his oldest two children across their social media pages, where they call Sam 'Nate'.

Miller and Beck, who met in 2012 just months after he began dating McKenna, were married in October 2012. The baby boy born on Monday is the first child for Beck, 28.

In 2013, she suffered a miscarriage with Miller's child just a month before Sam was born.

Last year, after Beck announced she was pregnant, McKenna wrote online: 'I hope he and his wife, Morgan, have a healthy and beautiful baby and grow with their new parental roles.

'I'm happy [Sam] will have another sibling. He is so loving and sweet, and will be an amazing big brother just like he is a great little brother.'

But she added that she was pursuing legal action against Beck, who had falsely suggested online that McKenna only fell pregnant with Miller's son after she fished a condom out of the trash.

Miller, a five-time world champion, and his wife live in California.

He has been away from the sport since February when he severed his right hamstring tendon in a crash during the world championships at Beaver Creek, Colorado.
