New to the area? Here's the high notes on CMA Music Festival.

Stadium shows with some of country music's top headliners. Free concerts in Riverfront Park. Nine additional stages –- many of which are free -- scattered around the Lower Broadway area. Autograph sessions, public Q & A interviews and more than 450 artists will attract about 80,000 country music fans a day to downtown Nashville in June for CMA Music Festival.

On Wednesday the Country Music Association announced the first round of artists to be featured on its main stage at LP Field. Set for June 11-14 in downtown Nashville, the initial lineup for LP Field includes: Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Neal McCoy, Oak Ridge Boys, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker, Cole Swindell, The Band Perry, Keith Urban, Wynonna and the Big Noise, and Zac Brown Band.

The nightly shows at LP Field are sold out but don't worry, you might still be able to catch Bentley or other favorites in concert.

Last year fans who didn't snag a ticket to LP Field were still able to see some of country music's biggest stars during the day on the stages scattered around downtown Nashville. Rascal Flatts, Big & Rich, Lady Antebellum and Bentley all made appearances on cheap-to-free stages during the festival. Florida Georgia Line was also set to show up at one of the free events, but it was canceled because of weather.

Tickets are available to Fan Fair X at Music City Center, which is where many of the singers meet fans, perform and sign autographs. Tickets for Fan Fair X are $10 a day or $25 for a four-day pass at CMAfest.com.

Families are also a priority. The Country Music Association provides booths and events geared to entertain children while mom and dad catch a breather. Over the years, kid-friendly fun has included cookie decorating, jumping dogs, bouncy houses, games and more.

More information on CMA Music Festival will be made available in the coming weeks. Check back at www.tennessean.com/music for the most up-to-date news on Nashville's biggest country music event of the year.

Proceeds from CMA Music Festival go to benefit The CMA Foundation, which supports music education initiatives across the country.
