The police are looking for a public lewdness suspect who allegedly masturbated on a subway last week. The woman who reported it to the police told us that he "exposed himself and masturbated to completion on a crowded uptown A train."

This happened on Friday, June 19th. The woman who filed the complaint says, "I got in the first car of the A train at Hoyt/Schermerhorn around 10 a.m., and saw a young man with his penis out of his pants, masturbating. He was using his hat to hide himself but from where I was standing I could clearly see what he was doing. He kept looking around. I moved a few steps away and took a photo, and then a video."

She added, "In the tunnel between High Street and Fulton, he 'cleaned himself' and then got off at Fulton Street."

This is how the NYPD describes the incident: "the suspect began masturbating in front of her. The victim took a photo of the suspect and then the suspect fled the train."

The complainant shared the video she took, and said the police "definitely took it seriously, though they did pass it around a bit (first in Manhattan, then this morning in Brooklyn). The detective said that he was going to put a poster together and hopefully the papers will pick it up because 'it's a really hot topic right now.'"

The woman also tells us:

When I was in Manhattan filing my report, ANOTHER call came in from another woman, different train, probably a different guy, also masturbating. So, I guess it's a hot topic because men can't stop masturbating on public transportation. So bizarre!

I have to believe the other people on the train noticed—but people also become inoculated to this, and i think most people just think 'get away, don't look'. When I first got on the train and situated myself, I was looking around and was greeted by a stranger's penis. Not how I wanted to start my morning.

I've never seen anything quite so vulgar, though I have seen men aroused before, though they were considerate enough to ignore it.

Well, unfortunately there are still some very inconsiderate sickos out there.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

The MTA and NYPD ask anyone who witnesses or experiences sexual harassment on the subway to report it. Hopefully this new legislation to toughen up penalties on subway ejaculation will pass.
