Nottingham Rugby centre Viliami Hakalo says Friday's game against his home nation of Tonga is a "massive test".

The two sides go head-to-head as part of Tonga's preparation for the World Cup, which gets under way next month.

Hakalo told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It will be really, really tough for the boys but we have been working hard.

"We are looking forward to it and the lads are ready for the game. It will be a massive test for us as well ahead of the new season."

Nottingham have never faced international opposition in their 138-year history and former Tonga international Hakalo has been named in the starting line-up.

"I am pretty nervous about it but I am excited about it," continued Hakalo.

"To be facing these boys is great and I have been talking to a lot of the players. Hopefully I won't get smashed.

"I have been talking to my family about it as well, we have a great rugby family."
