PINE BELT (WDAM) - It's going to be another warm and humid day across the Pine Belt. Temperatures rose into the low 90s by lunchtime and will top out in the mid-90s later on in the day. Heat indices will make it feel more like 100 outside.

Rain chances are smaller today, but you'll still want to keep your raincoats and umbrellas handy. Even though rain chances are only at 30 percent, any shower that does form could have heavy rain and some lightning.

Friday will be pretty much the same as today. Highs will be in the low to mid-90s, with partly cloudy skies and a 30 percent chance of a hit-or-miss thunderstorm. That 30 percent chance will stay through Saturday before we see better rain chances move in on Sunday. that will stay with us until early next week.

Meanwhile, out into the tropics, Hurricane Chris has now become post-tropical, meaning it has lost all of its tropical characteristics. It's skirting Newfoundland in Canada this afternoon, giving them gale force winds and heavy rains. Elsewhere, the tropics remain quiet.
