The late fashion icon purchased the property for around $7 million from Mexican pop singer Luis Miguel and overhauled the home to reflect his personal style. Located in the center of Beverly Hills, the Italian-style villa is marked by a grand entrance with an iron gate, stone pathways and extensive landscaping. The grounds feature bougainvillea vines, orange trees and 335 flower pots brimming with flowers that are changed out depending on the year.
Of course, season-specific flowers are to be expected from a designer whose shop on Rodeo Drive is considered to be the most expensive store in the world. Bijan was well-known on a first-name basis for his suits — dressing U.S. presidents including Barack Obama, both Bushes and Bill Clinton — as well as his fragrances, which are showcased in luxurious advertisements.
Bijan's home was built in 1993 and has a palatial sense, with a floating grand staircase, $20,000 chandelier handcrafted from Bijan perfume bottles, stone columns and hardwood floors. The open floor plan features indoor and outdoor living spaces, 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. A swimmer's pool in the backyard is surrounded by lush greenery and a loggia. A separate "casita" guest house is also included on the property.
An avid car collector, Bijan also built a underground parking structure on the grounds, which has room for 20-plus vehicles and held his luxury car collection.
