Chesterbrook Academy® Celebrates Reading Month

As a reward for reading more than 1,200 books in one month, students covered principal with ice cream and toppings

In celebration of National Reading Month and reading more than 1,200 books, students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool Brambleton on Cotton Grass Way in Ashburn transformed their principal into a human ice cream sundae. Throughout the month of February, students were challenged to read more than 1,000 books collectively for the chance to turn someone from the school’s administration team into a sundae. As a reward for exceeding their goal, principal Rachel Strasburg allowed students to cover her with ice cream and toppings, including fudge, cherries, whipped cream and sprinkles. Through this challenge, students celebrated the importance of reading.
