OBITUARY: Emma Curry, 72, of Salem

Here is the obituary for Emma Josephine (Garrett) Curry, of Salem.

Emma Josephine (Garrett) Curry, 72, of Salem, died after a brief illness Sunday morning, January 12, 2014 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia on July 8, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lowell and Alice (Hedrick) Garrett.

A resident of Columbus, Ohio for most of her life, she was employed as an inventory manager for the City of Columbus Police Department for many years prior to her retirement.

She was a resident of Brownville Junction, Maine from 2003 until moving to Salem, Massachusetts in 2012, but always considered Maine her home.

Emma is survived by two sons, Brian Curry of Salem, Massachusetts and Larry Curry of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons, Drake Curry and Rhett Curry of Columbus, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Jamie (Curry) Miles, and a stepson, Gary Curry of Columbus, Ohio. She was the sister of the late Raymond Garrett of Rockbridge, Ohio and Charles Garrett of Columbus, Ohio

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, Massachusetts with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
