Cops: Mamaroneck woman stole $9,000 worth of jewelry from Dutchess County jewelry store

A Mamaroneck woman is part of a duo who's accused of breaking into a Dutchess County jewelry store nine months ago. 

Casey Owen, 27, and 29-year-old Rocco Cardascia, of Poughkeepsie, allegedly stole more than $9,000 worth of jewelry in October 2016 from a Wappinger jewelry store, New York State Police said. 

Both were charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree grand larceny, all felonies. 

They were arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court. Cardascia was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond, and Owen was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.

They're scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 3.

The New York State Police were assisted by local police departements from the Town of East Fishkill, the Town of Poughkeepsie and the Village of Fishkill.
