Police have found the body of a 26-year-old Newmarket man who went missing on June 28.

Jonathan Adams was last heard from at around 2 p.m. on June 28 , when he was believed to be in the area of Bathurst Street and Keith Avenue in Newmarket.

Police say they found Adam's body around 1:40 p.m. in a forested area near Dufferin Street and Davis Drive on Thursday.

Police are not treating Adams death as suspicious and do not suspect foul play.

When Adams went missing, members of his former hockey team in England put a video together appealing for him to come home.

CTVNews.ca spoke with the current captain of his former team, Chris Arnone, who described Adams as a “nice guy” who is “passionate about hockey.”

Arnone said he was “heartbroken” to wake up to the news of Adam’s death on Friday morning.

“He was a true gent and I can’t speak highly enough of him,” Arnone said.

“I don’t think you could find anyone to say a bad word about him,” Arnone said, “He slid right in with the guys.”

Adam's former team says they will place the Canadian maple leaf logo on their jerseys to "mark his time as a member of the Hawks family."

Adams was described as male, white, 26-years-old, 5’ 11”, medium build, light brown hair with green eyes.
