Terrence P. "Terry" Duma

Terrence P. "Terry" Duma age 75 of Pequot Lakes died on April 12, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Pine River. He was born on September 16, 1942 in Wilton, ND to Nicholas and Pearl (Brezden) Duma. Terry enlisted in the Navy after high school graduation and served in England in Naval Intelligence. Following an honorable discharge, he joined the Minot, ND police department and was one of the first to complete his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice at the Minot State college. Terry went on to complete his four year degree in Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Following graduation, Terry was hired as a Special Agent by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation where he worked for several years and was then hired by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation as a Special Agent. During his twenty three year career, he was Investigative Special Agent in the St. Cloud region and later in the Brainerd District working on homicide cases, narcotics task force, and a number of sting operations. Terry also was a part-time law enforcement instructor at the Brainerd Community College. He has been a Brainerd Lakes Area resident for 35 years and retired to his horse ranch in the Pequot Lakes area in 2003. Terry enjoyed hunting, boating, motorcycles, and was an avid horseman.

Terry is survived by his partner of twenty-seven years, Lynne Wiebke of Crosslake; a sister, Karyn Duma of Sun City, AZ and a niece, Kari Duma-White and her husband, David White of Tucson, AZ, and his canine companion, Dennis.

Preceding Terry in death are his parents.

A graveside service is being planned in Wilton, ND on Saturday, June 9th at 1:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon at 2:00 p.m. at the caf in Wilton. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
