Top awards for Alexandria’s Gattis, Cleburne County’s Boozer highlight area all-state haul in softball

Alexandria’s Rylee Gattis and Cleburne County’s Jayci Boozer came away with major recognitions on the 2021 Alabama Sports Writers Association’s all-state softball team.

Gattis is the Class 5A player and pitcher of the year, and Boozer is the 4A player of the year, as voted by a panel of state sports writers on June 1.
