Who will win the College Football Playoff semifinal next month? One Miami porcupine thinks it knows.

On Monday, Pierce, an African crested porcupine at Zoo Miami, had to pick between two helmets, one representing the Oklahoma Sooners and the other the Nick Saban-coached Alabama Crimson Tide.

And the critter seemed to favor Oklahoma. It quickly chowed down on whatever was inside the bowl next to that helmet.

The zoo Tweeted a video of the prediction with Pierce nudging toward the helmet for Oklahoma which is ranked No. 4 versus Alabama which is ranked No. 1. In attendance was Orange Bowl committee president and chairman Sean Pittman and Zoo Miami spokesman Ron Magill.

“Pierce the African Crested Porcupine from @zoomiami has predicted @OU_Football to win the 2018,” the Tweet read. The video has more than 200,000 views on the social media platform.

Pierce’s prediction will be tested on Dec. 29 when the Capital One Orange Bowl takes place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

South Florida parks like to have fun by having their animals call winners of sports competitions.

In July, the Miami Seaquarium’s biggest sports fan, Flipper, made its pick for the World Cup by swimming around its lagoon. The dolphin kicked up one of two balls, each representing France and Croatia.

In the end, Flipper picked France — which won.
