NEWPORT, Ore. – A couple taking wedding photos near Newport helped police arrest an impaired driver Friday.

Oregon State Police said Abigail and Weston were married just an hour before they observed a possible intoxicated driver on the road.

The couple followed the driver to a local brewery where they waited on scene until Sr. Trooper Tucker arrived to take their witness statements.

After the official business was done, Weston told Tucker about their wedding and asked if he would be willing to take a photo with the couple and their marriage certificate.

Police said Tucker couldn’t have agreed fast enough.

The driver was arrested on a DUII charge, police said.
