Mayo’s Cameron Hanley took victory at Arezzo, Italy riding Sevil Sabanci's ten year-old stallion SIEC Royal Star in the Grand Prix Qualifier.

The 35-year-old Irishman was less than a second clear of Spanish
runner-up Fernando Fourcade, but his victory in the two-phase contest will be a confidence-booster as he returns to winning form.

Hanley, who will now compete in Sunday's Grand Prix, rides out of the Turkish S-Equestrian centre in Istanbul and is based in Germany.
