A New York-based sports and entertainment events company has purchased a majority stake in Barrett-Jackson, a collector car auction company with a major presence in Las Vegas.

IMG, a subsidiary of Endeavor Global Inc., will take a controlling interest in the auction and live events company, according to a Thursday news release.

Barrett-Jackson, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., hosts a popular collector car auction in Las Vegas each year.

This year’s show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which was attended by thousands, wrapped up early last month.

IMG puts on a number of sports and entertainment events each year, including the Miami Open tennis tournaments, and New York Fashion Week: The Shows.

Ariel Emanuel, Endeavor’s CEO, said in a statement that IMG looks “forward to working to build on (Barrett-Jackson’s) impressive legacy across categories, including experiences, hospitality, content, marketing and partnerships.”

In addition to Las Vegas, Barrett-Jackson hosts annual auctions in Arizona, Florida and Texas.
