Wiregrass Two-A-Days: Dothan Wolves
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The Dothan Wolves are coming off a very successful inaugural season which saw them win a region title and advance to the AHSAA playoffs.
A change of pace this year for the the Wolves as they will face the cream of the crop in the state as they move up to Class 7A.
Now Dothan did lose some key contributors from last year’s playoff team but are still returning tons of talent this season. Bauer Sharpe moves into the starting quarterback role while Jaylin White, one of the state’s top prospects, will handle the load in the backfield.
For Dothan, it’s all about making a run at the state title this season.
“Every team starts the year wanting to win a state championship as one of their goals and that’s ours,” said head coach Smitty Grider. “We feel like we have the talent level to compete at the highest level. The biggest thing is, number one, get to play, which I think we will, but to be better every week. That’s the goal.”
Dothan opens the season on the road against the Hoover Bucs.
