10/12 - 7:00 PM Football Final Aurora 27 Revere 10
RICHFIELD, Ohio -- Aurora's two-game skid placed the Greenmen in danger of missing the Division III, Region 9 playoffs, but Colin McNamara's electric second half looks to have his team back on track.
Aurora's quarterback accounted for three touchdowns after halftime to lift the visitors to a 27-10 win against Revere on Friday.
The Greenmen (5-3, 3-2 Suburban League American Division) entered their Week 8 game in ninth place in their region, but JoeEitel.com now has them slotted fifth with two games to play. This comes despite Aurora's losses to No. 25 Highland and No. 14 Barberton the past two weeks.
Revere (5-3, 2-3) came into Friday's game listed in front of Aurora in Region 9. The Minutemen trailed 7-3 at halftime. But McNamara, who already scored on a 1-yard run to give the Greenmen the mid-game advantage, closed out the win by dashing for 57- and 9-yard scores in the fourth quarter.
The senior quarterback connected with junior wideout Johnny Papesh on a 22-yard touchdown to give the Greenmen a 14-3 third-quarter lead. Revere cut the deficit to 14-10 soon after on a 19-yard scoring connection between Nathan Klonowski and Sean Leyden.
Revere plummeted to 13th place in Region 9, according to JoeEitel.com. The Minutemen will travel to face Bay on Oct. 19, while the Greenmen have a Copley road date booked.
