Cabin: Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

This was the first cruise for both me and my mother, and it was a wonderful experience!

Accommodations: We were in 9668, a D2 (Superior Ocean View Stateroom with balcony) on Deck 9. We found the stateroom to be plenty big enough for two people, with just about adequate storage space for our clothes and toiletries. I can imagine that a third person would cramp the closet situation quite a bit.

The room was comfortable and clean, and I appreciated the twice-a-day service. Our room steward, Xinia, was very nice and excellent at her work. We appreciated her efforts and friendliness. The balcony was a lovely thing to have—this was my first cruise, so I don't know how it compares, but I would now find it hard to downgrade to an ocean view or interior after this. It's not that we spent that much time in the room, but a lot of the time we were there was out on the balcony: reading, relaxing, watching the sea. The downside was having to come inside and shut the door when people on nearby balconies were smoking. It would be nice if RC would consider making the cabins on one side of the ship non-smoking, leaving the smokers and people who don't mind cigarette smoke on the other.
