DULUTH, Ga. — WKU Hilltopper Golf's Billy Tom Sargent shot his third straight round under par Tuesday at Georgia State's Autotrader Collegiate Classic, finishing tied for 17th.

The redshirt senior Sargent led the Hilltoppers with a 4-under 212 (70-71-71) tally, one shot ahead of junior Tom Bevington, who tied for 19th at 213 (73-67-73).

Bevington's 213 was the lowest 54-hole score of his career.

WKU finished tied for ninth as a team with an 862 (287-284-291), but recorded its second tournament under par in three attempts. The Hilltoppers had two such outings all last season.

"We played well at times, but had trouble sustaining consistent play this week," WKU head coach Chan Metts said. "When you can't extend good momentum like that it makes finishing out rounds difficult. We did make some progress this week, and hopefully found some things to build on going into our last event of the fall at Kennesaw."

Georgia Southern won the team title with a 35-under 829 mark, while the Eagles' Steven Fisk was the individual medalist with a three-round total of 199.

WKU redshirt junior Linus Lo tied for 27th while competing as an individual with a 215 (73-68-74) total, and senior Stuart Easton tied for 31st at 217 (70-73-74).

Sophomore Crimson Callahan and redshirt freshman Dawson McDaniel finished at 223 and 226, respectively.

The Hilltoppers finish their fall competition at Kennesaw State's Pinetree Intercollegiate on Oct. 22-23 in Kennesaw, Ga.
