Chautauqua Isle of Lights display to open Wednesday

BELOIT — The annual Chautauqua Isle of Lights display will open for its 19th year Wednesday in Chautauqua Park.

Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, through Dec. 31.

More than 250 holiday lighting displays will be featured, purchased by local businesses, organizations and individuals. Display categories include religious, winter wonderland, patriotic, toy land, Christmas cards, school mascots, antique vehicles and farm machinery.

New displays this year include a football arch purchased by local and state 8-man football committees, a farm scene by Tuffy File, a woman with angel wings by Coola File, Lady Bug by the Smith family, the Nex Tech Wireless logo and the Tin Man by the Severance family.

Admission is free, but donations are appreciated to help repair and upgrade displays.
