An accident involving a semi left three people with injuries in McKenzie County.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the tractor trailer was going eastbound on County Road 12 when it approached an intersection with a stop sign. The second vehicle was going northbound on State Highway 23 near mile marker 22 when the semi attempted to turn southbound.

The semi was going too fast approaching the sign and was unable to stop. It slid through the intersection hitting the driver’s side of the other vehicle. The semi jack-knifed, before coming to rest on the highway.

Three people in the other vehicle were hurt and one person was airlifted to a hospital in Minnesota.
