Victoria Beckham’s neck tattoo dedicated to husband David had disappeared as she was snapped at British Fashion Awards on Monday.

Only faint markings of the tattoo were visible when the former Spice Girl stepped out in a backless gown Monday. The Hebrew inking, which read “I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine” etched down her spine, was one of her tattoos she felt was “embarrassing.”

The fading of the tattoo first came to notice in 2015 during New York Fashion Week amid rumors that she was getting laser treatment done to get rid of it. Victoria, who had several tattoos dedicated to important events of her life, slowly started getting rid of them after she felt they were cheap.

She first removed two tattoos – one with the date she and David renewed their wedding vows and the second with the phrase “again from the start” in Latin.

Amid rumors of her getting tattoos removed, a source told Daily Mail back in 2015, “Victoria seems embarrassed about her tattoos – probably because she thinks they’re cheap and tacky. But it’s still surprising she would so readily get rid of ones that had such sentimental meaning to her in the past.”

On Monday, Victoria stepped out with David at the award function and though she did not manage to win the Womenswear Designer of the Year trophy, the two definitely seemed to have a great time together. They looked completely smitten as they cuddled up.

Last week, David was spotted partying with supermodel Helena Christensen in Miami. In one of the photos from the party, the former footballer was seen putting his hand on the model’s back with his tattoo of Victoria's name visible.

In the last couple of months, there have been several rumors of their troubled marriage with some outlets even claiming the two were headed for a $1.2 billion divorce.

However, the couple has time and again proved there is no trouble in the paradise. In September, Victoria debunked rumors of problems in their marriage in an interview with British Vogue.

“People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years, so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense,” she said, adding they were “stronger together" than they are as individuals.

In an October interview with BBC, David too spoke about the ways to make a marriage work.

“I think if you know each other well, if you know you’ve got great friends and great family behind you, the thing we have to do is protect our children and we are very proud of the family. To be married for the amount of time that we have, it’s always hard work, everybody knows that, but you make it work. You make difficult situations like traveling away, being away from each other, you make it work,” he said.

The couple got married in 1999 and has four children together.
