Mistake-prone Akron RubberDucks lose, 8-4, at Reading

The RubberDucks committed five errors in Monday's loss to the Reading Fightin' Phils.(Akron RubberDucks)

READING, Pennsylvania -- Joe Sever and Dorssys Paulino each had two RBI, but the RubberDucks were unable to get out of their own way, committing five errors in an 8-4 loss Monday night to the Fightin' Phils.

Akron got three runs in the third inning thanks to RBI singles from Sever and Paulino, and Paulino brought in another run in the fourth with a double to tie the game, 4-4.

The Phils' Deivi Grullon gave Reading a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with a solo home run and Akron couldn't answer. Reading added two runs in the sixth and another run in the eighth.

Akron right-hander Aaron Civale (1-1, 2.95 ERA) gave up five runs, four earned, in five innings. He struck out six but gave up three home runs.

Harold Arauz (2-0, 3.86) got the win for Reading, giving up four runs, three earned, in five innings.

Heiker Meneses, batting ninth, was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Fightin' Phils.
