Rick Tarro, 71, of Decatur, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, in his home.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mr. Tarro was born Sept. 25, 1947, in Wyandotte, MI, the son of James Richard and Roseann Amelia (Florian) Tarro. He married Jeannette Kay Wimberly on March 8, 1969, in Benld, and she survives.
Serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971, he then worked for the IRS from 1973 to 1979.
In 1980, he became a CPA and CVA while he was with Keller, Disbrow and Morrison. He later joined the firm as a partner. He then became a partner with S.G. Sikitch.
He loved to play golf, and was a fan of the University of Illinois football and basketball teams. He was a member of the CPA Society, Illinois CPA Society and the Sertoma Club.
Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by his brothers, Kent (wife Susan) Tarro and Dennis (wife Kathy) Tarro, both of Gillespie; nieces and nephews, Miranda and Mikayla Tarro, and Eric and AdamTarro; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to Central Illinois Food Bank and the Humane Society.
