Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Host A Couple Of Four Star Prospects

Recruiting Roundup

NCAA Football: Colorado at Washington Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

This weekend was an important weekend for the 2019 recruiting class with a couple of 4 star prospects in town. The Huskies also had several unofficial 2020, and 2021 prospects on campus. Here is a look at some of the guys on campus:

2019 4 star cornerback Trent McDuffie from St John Bosco HS, CA took his official visit to UW this weekend. At 5’10 and around 185 pounds McDuffie is a little smaller than some of the corners that the Huskies have been bringing in, but he is an elite cornerback and would be a big time pickup for the Huskies. He has offers from around the country but is looking most closely at Oregon, USC, Alabama, Stanford, and UW. Several experts believe this will come down to UW and Stanford. Here are some of his highlights:

Also in town was 2019 4 star inside linebacker Joshua Calvert out of Westlake Village HS, CA. Calvert is listed at 6’3” and around 220 pounds and also plays quarterback for his team. He is an important recruit for the class with the Huskies loosing both of their starting inside linebackers. With offers from among UCLA, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and UW the Huskies are in a good spot to land his commitment. His brother plays at UCLA, however UCLA isn’t pushing hard for his commitment. Here are some of his highlights:

There were some big time 2020, and 2021 prospects who were in town, and a few of them got offers.

5 star defensive end Sav’ell Smalls from Garfield HS, WA was watching the game in the visitor stands and you could see on the Fox broadcast that he appeared to be enjoying the game. He will be an important recruit for next years class. He is rated as the #3 player in the 2020 class by 247 sports and has offers from most almost everyone.

4 star 2020 defensive back Ayden Hector from Eastside Catholic HS, WA got a UW offer while on campus. At 6’1” and about 185 Hector has good size and is already garnering interest from around the country with offers from USC, Stanford, Florida, Oregon, and UW.

2021 4 star athlete Emeka Egbuka from Steilacoom HS, WA got a Husky offer while he was on campus. He will be one of the top prospects in the 2021 class and already has offers Florida State, Florida, Oregon, and now UW.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
