If you’re looking to buy new jewelry, you certainty won’t find a shortage of options in South Florida.

In fact, Miami ranks No. 1 in the entire country in jewelry stores per capita, according to a study from Rent.com. With 446 stores for a 471,000 city population, Miami has over 60 percent more per capita than the next highest city, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Orlando, Honolulu and Columbia, South Carolina, round out the top five, and there are four other South Florida cities in the top 50.

West Palm Beach ranked ninth with 46 stores for over 110,000 people. Fort Lauderdale came in at No. 12. If you’re looking beyond those cities, Pompano Beach (37th) and Pembroke Pines (45th) also provide plenty of options.

To determine the rankings, Rent.com reviewed every city with over 100,000 people and then divided that figure by the number of jewelry stores, compiling a list based on quantity versus quality.

In addition to jewelry options, South Florida also has some of the world’s top hotels and spas. Miami and Palm Beach featured prominently when Forbes Travel Guide announced its 2020 Star Award Winners last week.

The list, which includes hotels, restaurants and spas around the globe, included 16 five-star properties from Miami and Palm Beach.
