Springsteen’s son No. 42 on list to become Jersey City firefighter

He’s on Fire!

Sam Springsteen, son of famed musicians Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa Springsteen, is ranked 42 out of 961 people who took the Jersey City Fire Department’s civil service exam, records show, a number that could be high enough to get him into the Hudson River town’s next Bravest class.

The 25-year-old rock ‘n’ roll scion took the city’s civil service exam last year. The results of the exam were released Friday, according to documents released to The Post.

Sources previously told The Jersey Journal the city plans to send 60 of the exam’s top scorers to training.

The son of the “I’m on Fire” singer was a volunteer at the Colts Neck Fire Department in January 2014 after graduating from the Monmouth County Fire Academy, according to NJ.com.

Sam later wore the uniform of the City of Long Branch Fire Department Engine Co. 5, according to a December 2014 post to the engine company’s Facebook page, as well as a 2016 post to his own Instagram account. But it is not clear if that was a volunteer position.

The “Glory Days” singer’s son did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.
