The rentals of Extell’s 650-foot Hudson Yards Special District tower officially hit the market today, bringing 478 apartments to a burgeoning residential area on Manhattan’s west side. Yes, 555Ten—short for 555 Tenth Avenue—is right near the mouth of the Lincoln Tunnel, but that’s easy to forget from inside the luxe building. From its lavish lobby to its 12th floor dog run; its indoor-outdoor fire pit to its rooftop pool 56 floors above Manhattan, the building is decidedly Extell: catering, luxurious, and expensive.
The building’s 478 market-rate rentals will begin on the 14th floor and are split among studios, one-, two-, and some three-bedroom units. Rents in the building start at $3,150 for studios, $3,650 for one-bedrooms, and $6,250 for two-bedrooms. The building’s amenities, of which there are 30,000 square feet, are available for an additional fee that an Extell rep says is “competitive” and “costs less than an Equinox membership.” (Let it be noted that all-access Equinox memberships run $230/month.)
Those amenities include the aforementioned rooftop pool, fire pit and lounge, and dog run with pet services by Throw Me a Bone, as well as a fully-equipped gym, indoor saltwater pool, rooftop cabanas, bowling alley, and children’s playroom. That variety extends to the McGinley-designed apartments, where renters can choose between a dark or light finish package as well as a variety of layouts.
All apartments in the building come with thoughtful touches, like built-out closets and multiple cable hook-ups in living areas that enable a variety of furniture layouts. All apartments in the building also come with an in-unit washer and dryer.
A handful of apartments have been staged ahead of the building’s rental market debut, including an alcove studio and two-bed, two-bath apartment by Paris Forino and a one-bedroom by Lillian August.
