LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Valentine's has come in June.

University of Louisville 1986 Championship basketball team member Robbie Valentine is hosting his first ever basketball camp at the KFC Yum! Center this week.

More than 60 kids are participating in the camp that provides inner-city kids the opportunity to learn basic basketball fundamentals and teamwork.

"I've been doing this basketball camp for over 32 years, and I enjoy it more than anything in the world," Valentine said. "And you get the opportunity to work with young people on and off the floor you know it's something that's really personal and I really enjoy it more than anything."

Valentine is also not the only member of the 1986 championship team that campers will learn from as Milt Wagner will also be an instructor. Along with Valentine and Wagner, kids will also receive instruction from other experienced coaches and players like Joe Estes of Loyola University in Chicago; Brooke Valentine a player at Bellarmine University; and Aaron Valentine a player at Indiana University Southeast.

Appearances will also be made by Denny Crum, the Cards former Hall of Fame coach; Chris West of the 1986 Championship team; Tony Branch and Wiley Brown of the 1980 Championship team; and Jack Givens of the University of Kentucky 1978 Championship team.

Two more camps will be held by Valentine from June 27-30 and July 18-21.
