FARGO – The North Dakota Highway Patrol arrested two California men and seized 70 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop this week.
A trooper stopped an eastbound vehicle on Interstate 94 near Fargo for a traffic violation at 1:19 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
A search of the vehicle revealed two duffel bags containing 70 pounds of packaged marijuana, worth an estimated $115,000 street value.
The patrol said the driver, Jakeb Ward, 27, of Rio Dell, Calif., and a passenger, Christopher Bieniek, 28, of Fortuna, Calif., were arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men were taken to the Cass County Jail.
