Mandy Walve, who set up the page on behalf of the family, described Savannah as, “...a beautiful girl inside and out, with a bright future ahead of her.”

The family, who is from New York, has reportedly endured significant hardship over the last couple of years with the sudden death of Savannah Pero’s father, and grandfather.

Meanwhile, Montgomery ISD is offering counseling through the MHS Crisis Response Team over the next few days.

The district sent a message to parents early Tuesday morning alerting them of the death.

"Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time," the message stated. "This loss will likely raise many emotions, concerns and questions for the entire school, especially for our students."

The driver volunteered to give a blood sample, as the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office requires in all fatal accidents.

No charges have been filed, and the accident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
