CHICAGO (WLS) -- Current and past NBA players used basketball Saturday to help bring peace to streets on Chicago's South Side.

The third annual Peace League Tournament was held at Saint Sabina's in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

Some the players shooting hoops included Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Will Bynum to name a few.

The tournament, founded by Father Michael Pfleger, was started to help curb violence in the city.

"They give people an opportunity to get off the streets and actually see how different people are in different communities really," said tournament player Brandon Jackson. "It's a chance to come together for peace and we can all be together and have a good time without violence."

Senator Dick Durbin and Mayor Rahm Emanuel also attended Saturday's tournament.
