Teen dies in Indiana County collision

A Shelocta teen was killed Monday evening after striking a pickup truck head-on in Indiana County.

State police said Cody E. Bleggi, 17, was speeding south on Five Points Road near Creek Road in Armstrong Township when his Dodge Neon failed to negotiate a curve in the road, crossed the center line and crashed into Chevrolet Silverado.

Bleggi died of blunt force trauma, and an autopsy will not be performed, according to Indiana County coroner Jerry Overman Jr. Toxicology tests are pending.

The crash was reported to 911 just after 5:30 p.m.

The driver of the truck, Curtis Waltenbaugh, 31, of Indiana County, was transported by ambulance to Indiana Regional Medical Center. Police did not detail his injuries.
