NDSU's Herzog Wins Cobber Fall Invite, Martin Ties for Fifth

Final Results

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. - North Dakota State freshman Maddie Herzog picked up a victory in her first collegiate tournament Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Concordia Cobber Fall Invite.

Herzog, a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, shot rounds of 78 and 76 at Wildflower Golf Course to finish at 10-over-par 154 and win by three shots over Sydney Busker of St. Catherine University.

NDSU's Katelyn Martin turned in rounds of 84 on Saturday and 82 on Sunday. She tied with St. Benedict's Emily Olson for fifth place overall 12 shots back at 166.

Herzog and Martin were the only two NDSU golfers in the seven-team tournament. St. Catherine scored a 657 over two rounds and won by five shots over St. Benedict.

NDSU has a full team entered in the Battle at Old Works hosted by Montana State in Anaconda, Mont. Action begins at 9 a.m. MT on Monday, Sept. 10, and Tuesday, Sept. 11.
