2 shot at church funeral service in Frederick

Two people were shot at a Frederick County church during a funeral service Saturday afternoon.The Frederick County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called around 2:45 p.m. to Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church in the 5600 block of Ballenger Creek Pike in Frederick for calls of a shooting.Two people suffering from gunshot wounds were taken to hospitals. The extent of their injuries were not immediately known, but were believed to be non-life-threatening, the Sheriff's Office said.The Sheriff's Office said investigators do not believe the shooting to be a random incident and it is believed that the shooting occurred after an altercation between individuals at the service.On Sunday, authorities released photos of a man sought in connection with the shooting.Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Skelley at 301-600-4017. Tips can also be left anonymously at 301-600-4131.
