Bill Bellamy
GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Bill Bellamy is in town to perform six shows at Dr. Grins comedy club at The B.O.B. on Thursday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 1.
You may recognize him as a former MTV VJ or from his role in the film "Any Given Sunday" with Al Pacino. Or you may just know him from his Showtime comedy special "Crazy, Sexy, Dirty". Either way, Bellamy is one of the more notable names to hit the Dr. Grins stage as of late.
Bellamy stopped by the MLive studio for a quick video interview before his first show tonight.
He's touring in support of his next Showtime special entitled "Bill Bellamy's Ladies Night Out." That special is set to air in February, 2013.
In the interview, which you can watch in the video player on the right, Bellamy talks about what he would have done if he had won the $500+ million Powerball jackpot. Besides paying off his entire family, he says he would immediately change his name to "Anonymous".
He talks about Apple Jacks milk and how a random visit to an online chat room gave him the idea for one of his more popular bits.
He also gives his impression of Grand Rapids. According to his Twitter feed, he's a big fan of the cinnamon rolls at The Omelette Shoppe.
Watch the video and get a taste of what to expect from the shows this weekend at Dr. Grins. He says he plans to "turn this city upside down" and have some fun while he's here. So it sounds like you may see him out and about around Grand Rapids and not just on stage while he's in town.
Showtimes are as follows:
• Thursday, Nov. 29 at 9 p.m.
• Friday, Nov. 30 at 8 and 10:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 1 at 5:30, 8, and 10:30 p.m.
