Whoopi Goldberg pens first pot column

She's waxed on before about her love of weed, and now Whoopi Goldberg will be doing it on a regular basis, as a columnist for The Cannabist.

Her first ode is a virtual valentine to her vape (vaporizer) pen, which she has named Sippy, for the little "sassy sips" Goldberg takes to relieve the pain and pressure of glaucoma. Sippy is a she, incidentally.

"She takes the ache out. It's wonderful," The View co-host writes. Goldberg, who says she used to pop fistfuls of Advil to counteract her condition, insists that Sippy is for purely medicinal, vs. recreational, purposes. "The high is different, too. It feels like a gentle, warm breeze at the beach. It's like someone undoing a vise grip, very slowly. It's not overpowering — and I'm certainly not looking for that high high. I'm looking for relief."

Sippy "changed my life," she writes. "No, I'm not exaggerating."
