LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – Two men face charges after a teen was found lying along a road in Lumberton over the weekend.

Capt. Terry Parker, spokesman for the Lumberton Police Department, says someone found the teen on Roberts Avenue early Saturday morning. Police identified the teen, who had been shot, as Keithan Khalil Lynch, 17, of Lumberton. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Parker says GeQuan Cornish and Byren Ah’mar Stephens, both of Lumberton, were charged with first degree murder in connection to the investigation.

Cornish and Stephens each remain in custody at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.

Parker says the investigation into Lynch’s death remains open and additional charges are expected.
