Around the Town: Get creative with a sugar skull workshop

Sugar skull

Learn to make a sugar skull at a workshop Friday sponsored by Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces. The workshop will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church & Cultural Center, 224 S. Kendrick St. The cost is $10 for a completed sugar skull and decorating supplies.

Learn the secrets of turning water and sugar into skulls, which participants can then decorate to honor departed loved ones during upcoming Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations.
