Firefighter Injured in Prentiss Creek Apartment Fire

No residents were injured. The fire started in a second-floor apartment and spread to the third floor.

A fire Wednesday morning at Prentiss Creek Apartments left one Downers Grove firefighter with minor injuries, according to a village news release. No residents were injured.

The fire started in a second-floor apartment and spread to the third floor. The call came to the village at 6:14 a.m., Oct. 22, according to the release.

Flames had spread to the outside of the side of the building before firefighters contained the flames. Some apartments in the building will be uninhabitable because of smoke and damage.

Victims of the fire were given access to the on-site Resource Center, according to the release. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
