On 01 December 2017, King Williams Town Cluster members conducted an operation as part of the Safer festive season campaign in the CBD.
Increased police visibility yielded good results and Police were also on foot patrols ensuring that the community members are and feel safe.
Actions were as follows: Persons searched – 72, ATMs visited- 9, Taxi ranks visited – 3, Liquor outlets visited – 5, Motor vehicles searched – 35
One suspect was arrested for possession of mandrax and another suspect was arrested for possession of dagga.
While they were patrolling at Wesbank area members also arrested a suspect for theft of motor vehicle after it was established that the vehicle was stolen in Mlungisi in November.
These suspects will appear at King Williams Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
