Semi travels down embankment after crash on I-57 in Union Co., IL

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - According to Illinois State Police, a semi driver was taken to an area hospital after a crash on Interstate 57 in Union County, Illinois.

The crash happened July 16 at 1:24 a.m.

Syaf Mohanad Shamoon, 25, of Sterling Heights, Michigan lost control at mile marker 25 before his rig went down an embankment colliding with several trees before coming to rest in the median.

The driver had non-life threatening injuries.

There is an investigation into the crash.
