LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Wisconsin man was seriously injured in a Lake Villa Township crash early Saturday, police said. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 39200 block of Route 45 in Lake Villa Township for a traffic crash with injuries at about 1:15 a.m., according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies arrived and located a 2003 Dodge Caravan with extensive damage. A preliminary investigation shows the 43-year-old driver, a man from Union Grove, Wisconsin, was traveling south on Route 45 north of West Grass Lake Road when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic, drove off the east side of the roadway and into a ditch.
The Dodge rolled over and the driver was ejected, police said.

The driver was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries. His name has not yet been released.
The crash remains under investigation. Crash investigators are working to determine if alcohol was a factor, police said.
